Facts

  • Ovoviviparous. Myliobatiform stingrays, including the manta ray, sport ‘lipid histotrophy’: the embryo grows to a large size in the uterus mostly by the lipid-rich «milk» secreted from the uterine wall (ref: TomiToda2012)
