Abstract
Biology-based methods not only aim to describe toxic effects, but also
to understand them in terms of underlying processes. The estimation of
the No-Effect-Concentration (NEC) and a time-independent effect-parameter
is described for bioassays on survival/immobilisation, body growth,
reproduction and population growth. The underlying biological and
statistical concepts are discussed.
